Manage mineral scale. See the difference.
Point-of-Use: MagSert installs where water is used — at shower necks, toilets, sinks, dishwashers, washing machines, garden hoses, RV hookups, and other water connections — helping reduce mineral buildup where scale causes everyday problems.
The problem
Hard water leaves a mark.
Mineral buildup slows water flow, clogs small openings, leaves residue and shortens the life of parts that should last longer.
Scale can build on the inside of your pipes if left unprotected. MagSert is designed to help reduce that buildup. Illustration: two reference pipes, not a before-and-after.
Scale on fixtures
Minerals collect on shower nozzles, faucets and sprayers, the surfaces you see and touch every day.
Hidden buildup
Scale also forms where you can't see it: inside pipes, hoses and equipment, before any problem is obvious.
Easier wipe-off
Deposits that still form with MagSert tend to be softer, so they wipe away with less scrubbing.
How it works
See how it works with and without MagSert
Two identical pipes carry the same hard water. Without MagSert, the minerals grip the wall as hard scale. With MagSert inline, they tend to stay soft and suspended, so they flush through instead of building up. Flip the switch on the right to turn MagSert off and watch the difference. It reduces new scale over time — it does not strip minerals from your water.

Reviews
What customers are saying.
In October 2024, a representative from MagRock Inc. asked to install and evaluate their MagSert anti-scale devices in our Lowe's store's urinals. Since we frequently deal with mineral buildup and plumbing repairs, we agreed to let them install the devices. They installed MagSert's on two of our three urinals in mid-December 2024, leaving one urinal non conditioned for a comparison. By February, the non-conditioned urinal clogged up and needed professional cleaning. The two urinals with MagSert devices are still working good over six months after the install. Not knowing the severity of mineral scale prior to the MagSert installation adds to the MagSert's good performance. We've had zero service calls for the water-conditioned urinals, which saves us money and keeps our restrooms operational. With extended long-term results anticipated, to this date the product has and continues to reduce our maintenance costs.
We installed MagSert in our showers and sinks after buying a new home 2 months ago. There is little to no calcium build up around the spouts and water pressure has been amazing!
My skin is noticeably softer. It has also enhanced the lather of my shampoo and makes my hair feel more thoroughly clean with less frizz.
I love how, after installing the MagSert, I found that the soap scum doesn’t collect on the sides of the shower and around the drain like it used to. It seems to stay cleaner longer! Also, my soap and shampoo seem to suds up more than before.
Love my shower insert! When I shampoo my hair the sudsing is thicker and I'm using less shampoo for a better clean. My hair seems softer and my curly hair seems to keep its curl longer. I've noticed the shower head stays cleaner and I don't see any new calcium deposit on it.
Great product! We placed this in the shower and toilet in our en suite bathroom. We have noticed less clogging on the shower and no more hard water ring in the toilet.

Long-term case study
How MagSert Helps Manage Mineral Scale Over Time
MagSert is not a water softener, filter, or chemical treatment. It does not remove minerals from the water. Instead, it installs at the point of use, where water flows through the unit before reaching a fixture, appliance, hose, or water connection.
As water passes through MagSert, it helps reduce how strongly minerals cling to surfaces. This can help limit new scale buildup, make deposits easier to manage, and over time may help existing buildup gradually soften or release.
Real-use shower head case study
Same shower head. Two years apart.
This is not an overnight cleaning result. It is a long-term example of mineral scale management. After two years with MagSert installed, this shower head did not continue accumulating visible scale, and some existing buildup appears to have slowly reduced.
This shower head was not cleaned before install and was not cleaned for two years during this case study. At the time MagSert was installed in 2024, scale was already actively forming on the fixture. After 2 years with MagSert the shower head is still not accumulating scale, and some existing buildup appears to have slowly reduced.
It is important to understand that MagSert works where treated water flows. Areas that water cannot reach or flow across may not see the same effect. For example, surface scale on the outside face of a shower head may remain if water does not pass over that area. Any gradual reduction of existing scale is a bonus we observed in this case study — the primary purpose of MagSert is to help manage future mineral buildup.
Results can vary depending on water hardness, water usage, fixture type, existing buildup, and flow rate. For best results, clean fixtures when MagSert is first installed, then allow MagSert to help manage future mineral buildup.
One-year case study
One-Year Fountain Case Study
Real-use fountain case study
Same fountain. One year apart.
One year, no additional cleaning — water continuously recirculating through MagSert.
This fountain needed regular cleaning because of algae buildup. It was cleaned once, right before MagSert was installed on the fountain's recirculating line, and has not been cleaned since.
The clean-water photo was taken one year later. The fountain has stayed clear for over a year, with water continuously recirculating through MagSert.
Results can vary depending on water hardness, water usage, fixture type, existing buildup, and flow rate. For best results, clean fixtures when MagSert is first installed, then allow MagSert to help manage future mineral buildup.
An honest comparison
How MagSert® compares — honestly.
We won't pretend MagSert® does what a salt softener does. Here's the honest picture — and where it wins for most homes.
MagSert® conditions water — it does not remove minerals or "soften" water. Salt softeners remove minerals, at much higher cost and effort, and may carry higher risk of damage to the environment. TAC (template-assisted crystallization) systems are whole-house salt-free conditioners with tank installation and periodic media replacement.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Clear answers about what MagSert does, what it does not do, and where to use it.
Does MagSert remove minerals from the water?
No. MagSert does not filter or remove minerals. It is designed to reduce the ability of hard water minerals to stick to surfaces and form scale buildup.
Is MagSert a water softener?
No. Water softeners use salt-based ion exchange. MagSert does not add salt and does not remove minerals from your water. Instead, it leaves the minerals in the water and helps change how they behave, making them less likely to form hard scale on surfaces.
Where do I install MagSert?
At the point of use, where you use water: the shower, sink, toilet, washing machine line, RV connection, garden hose, or other water connection. You install it where you want fixture protection.
Will MagSert fix existing scale buildup?
With no new scale forming, existing deposits tend to break down gradually over time. Results depend on your water and how heavy the existing buildup is.
Are mineral deposits easier to clean after using MagSert?
Deposits that do still form are generally softer and easier to wipe away than untreated hard water scale.
Can I use MagSert for drinking water?
MagSert does not add anything to or remove anything from your water. It conditions how minerals behave. It is not a drinking water filter or purifier.
Will MagSert affect my water pressure?
No. MagSert sits inside the fixture neck and is designed not to restrict your flow — your spray and pressure stay the same.
